What is a crank installer tool?

Crank installation tool is usually made from durable metal materials such as steel or aluminum alloy. These materials are strong and durable enough to withstand the forces and pressures generated when cranking is installed. The crank installer tool in cars is commonly used when working on the engine. It is specifically designed to assist in the installation and removal of the crankshaft. The tool helps ensure that the crankshaft is properly aligned, positioned, and securely attached to the engine block. A typical crank installation tool includes a crankcase splitter separator and a crank puller installer tool.

Overall, the design of the crank installation tool allows for a more controlled and precise installation process, eliminating the damage that can result from the use of improper or inappropriate tools.

How to use the crank installer tool?

Premium provides you with a complete crank installer tool. During the installer process, please pay attention to the usage and order of the tools.

Crankcase splitter separator:

    1. Identify the crankcase halves that need to be separated. Place the crankcase separator tool on the crankshaft, aligning it with the designated point or hole on the crankcase half.
    2. Securely attach the crankcase separator tool to the crankcase half using the provided bolts or fasteners. Gradually and evenly tighten the bolts or fasteners on the crankcase separator tool.
    3. As you tighten the bolts, the two halves of the crankcase begin to separate, then carefully remove tools to gain access to internal components for maintenance or repair.

Crank puller/installer tool:

The crank puller tool is used to remove the crankshaft pulley from the crank. The crank installer tool is used to correctly position and install the crankshaft into the engine block.

    1. Identify the crankshaft pulley that needs to be removed. Attach the pull tool to the pulley and gradually tighten the center bolt or nut on the pull tool.
    2. Apply force to the pulley to pull it off the crank, until the pulley is completely separated from the crankshaft.
    3. After the repair problem is resolved, place the crankshaft installer tool on the end of the crank and align the installer tool with the corresponding bolt hole or thread on the crank.
    4. Begin tightening the crank installer tool onto the crank using a suitable wrench or socket. This puts pressure on the crank, pushing it into the correct position.

Note: Verify that the crank is properly positioned and seated by checking the alignment marks or keyways.
