Kia Radiator Support Assembly

Radiator Support Assembly Types

A radiator support assembly locates cooling components and provides mounting points in the front structure. The term can describe a broad front carrier, an upper or lower tie bar, or a smaller side support. Start with the damaged section rather than assuming every assembly covers the same area.

A-Premium offers both local supports and larger assemblies for selected vehicles. Compare the part's outline and mounting points for the radiator and nearby components with the repair area.

Matching A Radiator Core Support To The Vehicle

Upper and lower pieces attach at different points, and a side support may be specific to the driver or passenger side. Body style, build origin, production date and equipment can also change the correct support on particular vehicles.

Some supports are designed for a specified radar-cruise configuration. Identify the vehicle's equipment and follow the application notes; a similar-looking opening may not provide the required sensor mounting.

Planning Radiator Support Replacement

Front-end damage can extend into the latch area, lamp mounts, side supports or other structure. Inspect the surrounding components and check alignment before ordering the replacement pieces.

The radiator, condenser, lamps or hood latch may need to be supported or moved during the repair. Follow the vehicle's procedure for alignment, fluid systems and any driver-assistance equipment affected by the work.
