A-Premium offers replacement switches for selected applications alongside other brands. Compare the transmission type, connector, mounting and application notes with the part being replaced.

Choosing A Backup Light Switch

Some listings are limited to manual transmissions, and a production-date or trim condition can narrow the application further. A similar connector or the same model name is not enough if the transmission and mounting do not match.

If the backup lamps do not work, diagnose the vehicle's lighting circuit before selecting a replacement switch.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is a reverse light switch the same as a parking sensor?

They serve different functions. The switch is associated with the reverse-light circuit; a parking sensor detects nearby obstacles in a vehicle's parking-assist system.

Will a manual-transmission switch fit an automatic?

Use the transmission specified for the exact part. One A-Premium Hyundai/Kia switch is listed for manual transmission and explicitly excludes automatic transmission applications.

Why can the vehicle build date matter?

A part can change within a model year. One Nissan Frontier application on a listed switch is limited to manual-transmission vehicles built through February 1, 2007; that cutoff belongs to that particular entry.

Are two-terminal reverse switches interchangeable?

Terminal count alone does not establish fit. Thread or mounting type, connector and the transmission's switch design must also match the vehicle.

Does a nonworking reverse light always mean the switch is bad?

The lamp, fuse, connection or wiring can also interrupt the circuit. Test the reverse-light circuit before replacing a switch.
