2018 Ram ProMaster 1500 Side Mirror Glass

Choosing Side Mirror Glass Replacement

Replacing side mirror glass can restore the reflective surface when the housing and adjustment mechanism remain serviceable. Match the vehicle application, driver or passenger side, glass outline and attachment style. Some mirrors have a separate upper, lower or spotter section, so identify which piece is damaged.

A-Premium offers glass for selected vehicles with different combinations of backing plate, heating and turn-signal features. Compare the listed equipment and connections with the mirror on the vehicle before choosing a replacement.

Mirror Glass, Covers And Complete Assemblies

The reflective element is only one part of a side mirror. A backing plate holds the glass; the housing, adjustment mechanism and mounting base form other parts of the assembly. A mirror cover is the outer shell, not a replacement for broken glass.

Glass alone may be the right repair when the rest of the mirror is sound. Damage to the base, housing or internal adjustment mechanism can require additional parts or a complete assembly. Inspect the holder and attachments as well as the visible glass.

Mirror Glass Features And Attachment

Glass shape and optical profile matter: driver and passenger sides can use different flat or convex elements. Also match any original heating terminals, turn indicator, blind-spot warning or auto-dimming function specified for the vehicle. Matching the outline alone does not establish that the electrical features match.

Attachment varies by mirror and replacement. Follow the instructions for the part and vehicle, protect hands from broken glass, and avoid pulling on electrical leads. After installation, check that the glass is secure and that the adjustment and equipped functions work.
