Power Mirror Control Switches
A power mirror switch lets the driver adjust an equipped outside mirror from inside the vehicle. The control sends a request through the mirror's electrical system.
A-Premium offers replacement controls for selected applications. Match the switch's mounting location and connector to the vehicle, and check which mirror functions the original control supports.
Choosing A Side Mirror Switch
Adjustment and power folding are different functions. Some switches fit vehicles without a power-folding control, while others are designed for equipment with that feature. A similar faceplate does not establish electrical compatibility.
If a mirror does not respond, the switch is only one possible cause. The power supply, connections and mirror mechanism can also affect operation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does a mirror control switch include the mirror motor?
The switch is the cabin control; the motor that moves the glass or folds the mirror is part of the mirror mechanism. A switch listing does not automatically include the mirror assembly or its motor.
Can a switch add power folding to a vehicle that lacks it?
The folding function requires compatible mirror and vehicle equipment as well as the appropriate control. One A-Premium switch is specifically listed for models without a power-folding switch.
Can one control adjust both outside mirrors?
Some vehicles use a selector marked L and R with a shared adjustment control. The switch must be designed for the vehicle's original control arrangement and equipment.
Are eight-terminal and nine-terminal switches interchangeable?
Their connections differ and must match the vehicle circuit. Current A-Premium examples include both counts; terminal count by itself also does not establish that two eight-terminal designs fit the same application.
What can keep a folding mirror from moving?
Ice or dirt at the pivot can add resistance, and a power or control-circuit fault can also stop operation. Inspect the mirror and electrical system before replacing a switch.
