Radiator Hose Upper & Lower | Radiator Hose with clamps

Radiator Hoses And Cooling Connections

Radiator hoses carry coolant between parts of the engine cooling system. Depending on the vehicle, the collection can include upper or lower radiator hoses, overflow lines and other cooling connections such as a water-pump-to-thermostat hose.

A-Premium offers replacement hoses and pipes for selected applications. Match the connection points, shape, end sizes and vehicle configuration; not every cooling hose in this collection connects the same two components.

Choosing A Radiator Hose Replacement

A molded hose follows a particular route and may have different fittings or diameters at each end. Compare both connections and any branches with the existing hose.

Coolant systems can remain hot and pressurized after the engine is switched off. Allow the system to cool before service, use the specified coolant and follow the vehicle's filling and air-bleeding procedure afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are upper and lower radiator hoses interchangeable?

They can have different shapes, connections and routes. Select the hose for the specified position and engine rather than assuming that an upper hose will serve as a lower hose.

Can a radiator hose have different sizes at its two ends?

Some do. One A-Premium water-pump-to-thermostat hose lists different inside diameters for its two ends. Compare both connection sizes and the complete hose shape when selecting a part.

Does an upper-and-lower hose listing always mean two separate hoses?

The package needs to be read carefully. One listing describes upper and lower applications but records a quantity of one, so confirm the supplied parts before treating it as a two-hose kit.

Can a molded radiator hose be trimmed to fit?

A molded hose is shaped for its route and connection points. Cutting it can change the fit or remove a needed end; follow the product and vehicle instructions rather than trimming it as a general rule.

Why does the cooling system need attention after hose replacement?

Opening the system can remove coolant and introduce air. Refill with the specified mixture and follow the vehicle's bleeding and leak-check procedure so the system returns to its intended operating condition.

Black Flakes in Coolant Reservoir: What to Check and Fix

Black flakes in coolant often signal deteriorating rubber, deposits, or debris, not just a blown head gasket. Learn to safely identify the material, inspect hoses, and diagnose the true source before flushing or replacing parts.
