Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoirs
The windshield washer reservoir holds fluid for the washer system. When the washer is operated, a pump sends fluid through the hoses to the appropriate nozzles; the reservoir itself stores the fluid.
A-Premium offers tanks with different pump and accessory arrangements for selected vehicles. Match the tank shape, mounting and washer equipment to the original system.
Choosing A Windshield Washer Tank
Some applications use one washer pump, while others use a reservoir designed for two. Headlight or rear-glass washer equipment can affect the required tank and connections on certain vehicles.
A cap, filler neck, fluid-level sensor and hose may be supplied or transferred separately depending on the product. Check the package before planning the replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does every replacement reservoir include a washer pump?
Package contents vary. Many tanks are sold with a pump, but a tank listing alone does not establish which pump or how many are supplied. Match the listed pump arrangement to the vehicle.
Why do some washer tanks have two pump positions?
The vehicle's washer equipment can require a different pump arrangement. One A-Premium two-pump tank also lists a headlight-washer opening; that combination applies to the specified product, not every two-pump vehicle.
Is the washer fluid level sensor included?
One A-Premium reservoir includes a level sensor, while another specifies no sensor. Transfer or replace the sensor as required by the vehicle and kit.
Can washer fluid leak from somewhere other than the tank?
The pump seal, hose or connection can leak as well as the reservoir body. Volvo documents a pump mounting grommet leak on certain trucks, illustrating why the source should be located before replacing the tank.
Can an existing filler neck be reused?
Some replacement tanks do not include a filler neck. If the original neck is a separate serviceable part, its condition and connection matter when transferring it to the new reservoir.
