Active Shutter vs Decorative Grille Parts

An active shutter controls airflow with moving vanes. A decorative grille, grille insert, radiator support, or trim piece may occupy the same general area without performing that function. Likewise, a separate actuator is not automatically a complete shutter assembly. Identify whether the repair needs the moving shutter frame, its drive motor, or only an exterior grille component before choosing a part.
