A-Premium offers a lever-and-cable assembly for a specified Ford Mustang application and a release handle for selected Dodge and Ram vehicles. Check the package and vehicle application to determine whether the required repair calls for a handle, cable or larger assembly.

Parking Brake Handle, Cables And Operation

A release grip, its linkage and the cables that apply the brake at the wheels are not automatically the same part. Match the mounting and connection to the failed control, and do not assume a handle package contains every wheel-end cable or brake component.

After service, the control must apply and release the parking brake as specified. Secure the vehicle against rolling during checks and follow its service instructions. A stuck handle can be caused by linkage or brake mechanism problems as well as damage to the grip.

Why can a parking brake pedal remain down after pulling the release?
