Audi A6 Quattro Multi-Function Switch

The controls depend on the vehicle and the individual assembly. Some vehicles divide the functions between two stalks, while a separately listed wiper switch may serve only the washer and wiper circuit. Match the features on the switch being replaced.

A replacement needs to support the controls built into the original switch. One Standard combination switch explicitly lists no cruise on/off, set or resume controls, so its appearance alone cannot establish that it suits a vehicle with those functions on the stalk.

The clock spring is a separate steering-wheel electrical connection that allows the wheel to turn while maintaining circuits such as the airbag and horn. A switch listing does not establish that a clock spring is included; check the package and service procedure.

The lamp, fuse, wiring or another part of the signal circuit can also be involved. Determine whether the failure is at the switch or farther along the circuit before buying another component.

Connector shape is only one part of the match. Terminal assignments, switch functions and mounting can differ even when plugs appear similar. Compare the listed application and electrical details with the vehicle's original switch.
