BMW 535i Dashboard Air Vent

Dashboard Air Vent Positions: Driver, Passenger, Center, and Rear

Dashboard air vents are position-specific interior parts. Options can be made for the driver side, passenger side, center stack, rear center console, or an upper dash location. Start by locating the damaged opening and noting its side. A vent from the opposite side or another console position may use a mirrored housing, different tabs, or a different surrounding trim shape even when the louvers look alike.

Full Dash Air Vent Assembly or Cover Trim?

Not every item is a complete adjustable vent. Some parts are vent cover trims or louver surrounds that restore the appearance of the dashboard but do not include the full airflow assembly. Decide whether the repair needs the movable louvers and housing or only the decorative cover. The product name and images should identify that difference before color or finish is considered.

Single Vent or Multi-Piece Dashboard AC Vent Set

Package quantity ranges from one side-specific vent to two-, three-, or four-piece sets. A multi-piece kit can cover several dashboard openings, while a single unit is intended for one location. Count the damaged or missing pieces and note which positions the set serves. A four-piece set should not be assumed to fit a vehicle that uses a different vent arrangement simply because the total number is similar.

Check LHD/RHD, Hole Layout, Color, and Finish

Left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive dashboards can use different trim shapes. Some rear-console vents also differ by whether a hole or opening is present. Use the steering configuration, hole layout, interior color, and finish stated for the part. Black, gray, chrome-accented, and other finishes may not blend identically with aged trim, so choose the closest specified appearance rather than assuming an exact color match.
