Headlight Washer Nozzle Replacements

Headlight Washer Nozzles And Sprayers

A headlight washer nozzle directs washer fluid onto a headlamp lens on vehicles equipped with a headlight cleaning system. Some designs use a lift cylinder that extends the nozzle from the bumper during operation.

A-Premium offers individual driver- or passenger-side nozzles and pairs for selected vehicles. Match the side, bumper opening, hose connection and washer mechanism to the installed system.

Choosing A Headlight Washer Nozzle

Nozzle and lift-cylinder designs vary. Check whether the repair needs the spray nozzle, the extending mechanism, an exterior cover or another part of the assembly; the product name alone may not describe every supplied piece.

If a washer does not spray or extend, the cause may be a restriction, damaged hose, pump or operating condition. Some vehicles operate the headlight washers only under specific lighting and washer-control conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is a headlight washer nozzle the same as a windshield washer nozzle?

They direct fluid to different surfaces and can use different mounts and spray patterns. Choose the nozzle for the headlight washer system rather than assuming a windshield spray jet will fit.

Does the headlight washer use the same pump as the windshield washer?

The arrangement depends on the vehicle. A VW service diagram shows a shared washer-fluid tank with a separately identified headlamp washer pump. Check the vehicle's system rather than assuming the pump is shared.

Can one nozzle fit both sides of the vehicle?

Some listings specify a driver or passenger side, while others provide a pair. For example, a Porsche nozzle is listed for the front passenger side and a BMW listing contains two front nozzles; select the correct side and application.

Does a headlight washer nozzle include the bumper cover cap?

The nozzle, lift mechanism and exterior cap may be separate pieces depending on the design. Check the selected package and the existing assembly; a nozzle listing does not automatically establish cap inclusion.

Why might the headlight washers not operate every time I wash the windshield?

Some systems require the headlights to be on and operate only at a particular interval. One Volkswagen manual describes activation with the headlights on and every fifth windshield-washer operation. Follow the vehicle's operating conditions before diagnosing a fault.
