An AC evaporator must be chosen for the correct HVAC case. Front and rear units can use different housings, mounting points, and refrigerant-line locations, so they should not be treated as interchangeable. Some AC evaporator applications call for a pressing plate, while others do not include one. The evaporator sits inside the HVAC case and absorbs heat from cabin air.
