Genesis G80 Brake Pad

Genesis Brake Pads With Axle-Specific Dimensions

Genesis brake pads can have separate front and rear dimensions within a full set. A combined set can contain different pad heights at the two axles, and wear-indicator inclusion does not guarantee that mounting hardware is supplied. Compare those details separately after matching the complete vehicle and caliper application. Pad count establishes the friction pieces supplied; the retained discs, fitting components and brake condition determine whether additional parts belong in the repair.

Wear-Indicator Inclusion In Genesis Rear Pads

Wear-indicator inclusion is specified separately for the selected Genesis pad set. Check the front and rear contents independently when buying both axles.

A mechanical pad wear indicator uses a small contact tab to make a warning sound as the friction material wears. An electronic arrangement uses a sensor and connection to signal wear through the vehicle's system. Both concern pad wear, while ABS wheel-speed sensing serves a different function. Check the indicator type required at the relevant axle and whether the new pads include it. An existing warning should be investigated even when the package contains a sensor, because wiring or another component may also need attention.

Fitting Hardware And Genesis Pad Purchases

Some Genesis rear-pad sets do not include mounting hardware, so required fitting items must be checked separately.

Fitting hardware supports and retains the pads within their brake assembly. Clips and guides should allow the movement required by the design while keeping the components in their intended positions. Check whether the replacement includes the necessary hardware, and have existing supports inspected for wear or corrosion during the job. The pad count and the accessory contents are separate pieces of information. Buying the appropriate fitting parts alongside the friction components helps prepare for the repair without assuming that every old clip can be reused.

Keeping Genesis Front And Rear Pads In Their Positions

A front-pad set serves the two front wheels, while a front-and-rear set contains separate groups for both axles.

Sort the pads by their position markings and fitting instructions before installation. Front and rear backing plates can differ in outline, support points and dimensions, even when both use the same friction formulation. Check each group against the corresponding caliper and keep any inner, outer or side-specific assignments intact. A full set is a way to purchase the required groups together; it does not make every pad suitable for every position on the vehicle.
