Camshaft Position Sensor

The camshaft sensor reports camshaft position, while the crankshaft sensor reports crankshaft position and speed. The engine control system uses their signals for different parts of engine management, and the sensors are not interchangeable by appearance.

Choose the sensor specified for the engine and location. A-Premium lists both two- and three-terminal examples, and their connectors and electrical requirements can differ; a sensor with the wrong terminal count is not a direct match.

A code identifies a signal or circuit concern, not necessarily a failed sensor. Damaged wiring, a poor connection or a problem with the signal wheel can also affect the reading; test the circuit and associated components.

Both formats appear in the collection. Check the quantity and the intended positions in the selected package before ordering, especially on an engine with multiple sensors.

It can for a specific application. One listed sensor fits the 2006–2007 INFINITI G35 with rear-wheel drive but excludes all-wheel drive. Read the application notes for the exact vehicle rather than applying that restriction to every model.
